I was talking with a friend who was having difficulty in falling asleep and offered to make her a recording using brainwave synchronization to help (so you will need to use headphones for its effect to work). I would have liked to have tested it myself, but I fall asleep so quickly, it wouldn't be such a fair test! However I've made a few in the past for other friends and they were always pretty enthusiastic about the results. So I'm fairly confident it'll work for most people out there. It’s completely free and I’ve made 2 separate recordings:

Relaxing Sound to sleep” has just a straight forward, typical (though pleasantly melodious) hypnotherapy-style, background music with embedded brainwaves.

Healing relaxation to sleep” has one of my “relaxalong” voice recordings with the same recording above as background music. The balance of the background music is somewhat high as the magic sleeping dust is in the stereo music, not my voice. Then, for those who are not too familiar with hypno-therapeutic recordings, there is no need to try to listen to what I’m saying. The recordings work whether you listen, or let your mind meander where it will. In fact, it may surprise you to know that it probably works better with less consciously focussed minds!Just hit the links to download the mp3 recordings - they are free. You are very welcome to let me know what you think of them - feedback is useful for me and others.

Entraining the Brain
Another interesting feature of brainwave synchronisation is revealed in another name it is sometimes referred to as, that being "Brainwave Entrainment". For most of us, our brains are not used to being audio manipulated - having our dominant brainwave frequencies changed or brought down into the regions which naturally enhance concentration, creativity, meditation and actual deep sleep. So the recording may not work first time, but give it a few goes. Most of us would probably notice some effect after just a few listens. The more we listen to it, the more effective the brainwave entrainment becomes.

Brainwave Synchronisation Specification Details
For the more technically minded, I can say that the brainwave synchronisation frequencies in these two above recordings start initially at 13 cps (cycles per second) and end up at 2 cps after 20 minutes, where they continue to the end of the 30 minute recording. They break the 4 cps point, often considered to be the brainwave frequency required for entry into a deep sleep, after about 12 minutes. One must remember that, although the recording is feeding the brain with that frequency after 12 minutes, it may still take several minutes for the brain to be you eased (or dragged) down to the 4 cps and below - the domain of deep sleep.

 Happy Christmas everyone!
