Qigong Creates Organic Wellness and Relaxation - Essentially Relieving Stress and Putting You Back in Touch with Yourself
Qigong Masterfully Promotes Natural Health and Spontaneously Establishes a Balance of Physical, Mental and Emotional Well-Being
Qigong is one of the more complete and well proven methods for naturally promoting, achieving and maintaining excellent levels of physical health. It has the added benefit of releasing physical muscle tension so producing a spontaneous relaxation from the moment you start. Longer term practitioners often find immediate release and relaxation without even raising a finger purely by recalling to mind their experience of qigong.
Natural Enhancement and Replenishment of Your Immune System
As well as developing deeper levels of calmness throughout your day as you train in this more and more, qigong has the effect of naturally stimulating and enhancing your immune system by encouraging your body to open up blocked flows of subtle life energy (the Chinese is qi or sometimes spelt chi). This in turn automatically releases a lot of the clutter in one's mind, allowing one to spontaneously achieve deeper levels of relaxation. And because this practice is working on deeper levels within the body (the acupuncture meridian energy system), the results are more long lasting.
The Ancient Elixir of Qigong - A Modern Day Cure-All
The benefits and effects of qigong are too numerous to list in this introduction. They cover and relieve the full spectrum and circle of physical and mental problem areas including highly effective treatment of many medically diagnosed illnesses. Anyway if I were to choose one as an example:
We all know the experience of being stressed and tense. How often are we unable to turn off our mental action replays of our daily problems and worries? This can sometimes continue well into the night
causing chronic tiredness and insomnia problems. Our muscles are continually tense, thoughts jerk into our minds and we even may say things we wish we hadn't. The only way you may have found to get some temporary respite from this is through some form of vigorous exercise or going to a massage parlour and the like.
How Does Qigong Relieve Worry and Stress?
- The slow, firm yet relaxed exercises or practice of qigong isn't forcefully trying to undo the tense muscles of our body, but rather allowing gentle stretching of the body whilst introducing and applying a relaxing and pro-active mindfulness to the physical movements. By directing our mind to follow the flow of the exercises, we naturally stimulate and cause our inner energy system to flow. This causes us to spontaneously open up and relax our body from the inside out. It is our presence of mind that allows and stimulates the flow of inner energy that is blocked by the tension of the muscles. The slow and non-forceful movements of the body further encourage the muscles to relax. With these deeper levels of relaxation within our muscles, we are freeing the blocks that are causing our thoughts to ever circle on our problems. The result is a freer, lighter, more comfortable feeling of our body combined with a more open and relaxed mind and outer perspective.
This Qigong Double DVD set is available at Gaiam for just $20!
Qigong has been an essential part of practising health and well-being within Eastern medical traditions as well as the great Martial arts such as t'ai chi. Gaiam are offering several beautifully produced and directed qigong DVDs that will enable you to fast-track and inspire you to achieve levels of holistic well-being that many of us just dream of. This Qigong Beginning Practice set has 2 DVDs and covers around 30 practice sequences in over an hour. With the 2nd DVD - a documentary - there is 2 hours 30 minutes viewing time. Now that is generous!
Having recently purchased the 'Qigong Beginning Practice' - it's a Double DVD pack - I was hugely impressed with:
- The quality of description and presentation of the exercises was great, making them easy to follow, practice and learn.
- The number of exercises presented was far more than I expected - around 30 different sequences and including a few miscellaneous exercises - massages of the scalp, the ear and the sinuses.
- The length of the principal DVD being more than one hour was generous and covered all that needed to be covered. There was no feeling of shortcuts for quick production.
- There is even a bonus documentary disc of over an hour, making a total viewing time of 2 hours 30 minutes.
- Real value for money - my only concern over that is that people identify cheapness with less effectiveness and that would be a sad mistake with this wonderful practice of qigong.
